In 2016, BBC Comedy is marking 60 fabulous years of the TV sitcom – from Hancock’s Half Hour and Steptoe & Son to Only Fools & Horses, Absolutely Fabulous and Miranda…
To celebrate, BBC Faces of Comedy, a collection of rare images from the BBC’s Photographic Archive, will be launched at Compton Verney.
This exhibition will show some of our best-loved comedians at work – behind the scenes, on set among the paraphernalia of cameras and microphones, in avid script discussion, or just enjoying a well-earned cuppa.
The show has been curated by a group of the nation’s best loved contemporary sitcom stars, who will be selecting their favourite images of the comedy greats who have personally inspired them.
