CHAPEL

A short walk from the main house, our Chapel offers a blend of traditional atmosphere and contemporary elegance for your ceremony. Intricate plaster and marble-work adorn the ceiling and walls, and large windows fill the space with natural light.

ADAM HALL

Named after the 18th century architect, Robert Adam, the Adam Hall is the jewel of the Compton Verney estate. Featuring large windows, an ornate marble floor, grand pillars and high ceilings, it exudes timeless elegance.

The main house is home to a world-class collection of artworks making the galleries perfect for more intimate celebrations. Guests can sip champagne amongst the grandeur of Renaissance Naples and enjoy predinner canapés whilst admiring works from the Holy Roman Empire.

AL FRESCO

Compton Verney’s 120 acres of historic parkland provides a stunning backdrop to your outdoor wedding. The magnificent portico and adjacent courtyard is licensed for civil ceremonies and can accommodate up to 100 seated guests.

What is included in the Compton Verney venue hire?

A full day’s hire of the Adam Hall from 9am until midnight with wedding parties finishing at 11.30 pm with all guests off site by 12 midnight. Access to various spaces for your wedding as agreed.

What time do we have access to the room from and until?

Access to the room can be guaranteed from 9am on the day of the wedding. Should the room be available the day before, the team will contact you closer to the event date to confirm access and availability.

You are welcome to drop items off the day prior to the wedding and the team will store and arrange these for you on the day as per your instructions.

Will the ceremony and the wedding breakfast take place in the same room?

This will be dependent on your numbers and chosen ceremony room. We can tailor the use of the space to your numbers and preferences.

The maximum for ceremonies is 100, who does this include?

It is important to note that our maximum capacity for civil ceremonies is 100. This number needs to include the Bride and Groom, 2 registrars and a member of staff from Compton Verney along with any relevant suppliers such as a photographer.

Can we hold a ceremony only?

Absolutely; we are delighted to share any aspect of your big day with you.

Please be advised that a venue charge is still applicable.

May we throw confetti?

Yes, but you may be restricted to the grass and your confetti must be real flower petal confetti only.

Can guests leave their cars in the car park overnight?

Yes, however we ask that all vehicles are collected by 10am the following morning. We strongly advise pre-booking any taxis that you may require.

Can we bring in our own caterer or alcohol?

We work with a hand selected portfolio of caterers to provide all food and beverage services and please see our catering tab for suggestions. Fosters, our in-house caterer supply the bar facility for all events and alcohol cannot be brought on site. Please contact the team for more details.

Can we have candles?

There are some restrictions on candles; however it is possible to use them within the Chapel and on our Portico, providing they are within enclosed candle holders and with advance notice. Candles are not permitted inside the main building.

Who decorates our tables?

If we are able to provide you access on the morning, and potentially the day before, you are welcome to decorate your tables as long as the room is accessible. You can also discuss your vision with the catering team who will be setting up on the day. Our events team are also more than happy to help, within reason.

Will we have exclusive use of Compton Verney?

Compton Verney is an art gallery open to the public Tuesday – Sunday 10am -5pm. However, the spaces hired for your wedding are exclusively yours, during the times agreed. We do not offer more than one wedding at a time.

What documents do my suppliers need to provide?

It is your responsibility to check that all contractors / suppliers have Public Liability Insurance, all electrical equipment over 12 months old is PAT tested and suppliers comply with current Health and Safety regulations. Please note, that fabrication of the venue and its fixtures cannot be damaged in any way, moved or relocated.

Do you cater for children?

Yes – Our team of caterers are happy to discuss your plans for all guests.

Can I have fireworks?

Fireworks are no longer permitted at Compton Verney due to our biodiversity work. Please note, we do not allow the releasing of sky lanterns or balloons onsite.

Compton Verney is managed to balance the artistic integrity of landscape design with an appreciation for nature and wildlife.  Initiatives to increase biodiversity have included the creation of eighty acres of wildflower meadow, planting trees to create wooded pasture, planting native hedgerows, and sensitive woodland management.  This work has enabled rich wildlife populations to thrive.  The park has been designated a Local Wildlife Site. Local populations of birds and moths have been surveyed and documented by volunteer experts. 

Is there disabled access?

Yes. We have disabled access throughout the venue and grounds.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are permitted in certain areas of our grounds, if you want your furry friend to be a part of your photographs, we will do our best to work with you to make this happen. Working Assistance Dogs are permitted within the buildings.

What if we need to cancel?

Our terms & conditions will be sent out upon confirmation which states our cancellation policy. We strongly advise couples to take out an insurance policy to cover unforeseen cancellations.

When are our payments due?

A deposit of 25% of the agreed venue hire will be charged on booking. The balance is then invoiced 4 months ahead of your wedding.

The stunning grounds, scenery and building are obvious and are joy to admire, however it is the work that was completed to make our day special that sets Compton Verney apart.
