Whether you’re looking for an intimate ceremony with 10 guests or a large ceremony with up to 100 guests we have spaces across the site in which you can host a civil or  celebrant led ceremony. You can take your pick from surrounding yourself with art and architecture or immersing yourself in our beautifully landscaped parkland with the spaces that we have.

Welcome your guests with a drinks reception overlooking the lake and landscape or in the Naples galleries. then proceed in to the Adam Hall for your wedding breakfast and evening party. We include furniture and a dancefloor and the wedding breakfast can be supplied by one of our exclusive caterers Cotswold Fine Dining, Shakespeare Kitchen and Anthony’s Catering – all of whom can provide the perfect culinary accompaniment to your event with us. We can accommodate up to 150 guests for your evening reception following the wedding breakfast.

A short walk from the main house, our beautifully restored Grade 1 Capability Brown Chapel provides a traditional location for your ceremony. Intricate plaster and marble-work adorn the ceiling and walls, and large windows fill the space with natural light. The chapel has been licensed to hold civil ceremonies and can accommodate up to 100 guests.

Offering a unique setting for your wedding, we have a world class collection of artworks. Be transported to Naples by our fantastic collection of 17th and 18th century Neapolitan paintings and our Women’s Library, steeped in feminist history, is a perfect space for intimate celebrations. Adam Hall

With large picture windows, marble floor, ornate pillars and high ceilings, the Adam Hall is a grand, traditional room that exudes timeless elegance. The Adam Hall is an exquisite setting for civil ceremonies and wedding breakfasts, for up to 100 guests, accommodating up to 150 guests for evening receptions.

Catering

Our aim is to cater for your every taste by providing you with an extensive mouth-watering array of dishes to choose from. We work with several named catering partners – Cotswold Fine Dining, Shakespeare Kitchen, Anthony’s Catering and Chana Catering – and expert mixologists Sip ‘n’ Swig. With options from laid back BBQs to family style sharing platters to fine dining options, there’s something to suit all tastes and budgets.

What is included in the Compton Verney venue hire?
  • The hire of the Adam Hall & Old Servants Hall from 9am until midnight

What time do we have access to the room from and until?

Access to the room can be guaranteed from 9am on the day of the wedding. Should the room be available the day before, the team will contact you closer to the event date to confirm access and availability.

You are welcome to drop items off the day prior to the wedding and the team will store and arrange these for you on the day as per your instructions.

The maximum for ceremonies is 100, who does this include?

It is important to note that whilst our maximum capacity for ceremonies is 100, this number needs to include the Bride and Groom, 2 registrars and a member of staff from Compton Verney along with any relevant suppliers such as a photographer, musicians etc.

May we throw confetti?

Yes, but you may be restricted to the grass and your confetti must be real/dried flower petals only.

Can guests leave their cars in the car park overnight?

Yes, however we ask that all vehicles are collected by 10am the following morning. We strongly advise pre-booking any taxis you may require.

Can we have candles?

There are some restrictions on candles; however, it is possible to use them within the Chapel and on our Portico, providing they are within enclosed candle holders and with advance notice. Candles are not permitted inside the main building.

Will we have exclusive use of Compton Verney?

Compton Verney is open to the public Tuesday to Sunday (and Bank Holiday Mondays) 10am – 5pm. However, the indoor spaces hired for weddings are private use, and outside of opening hours. As we are closed on Mondays (excluding Bank Holidays), we offer weddings for exclusive use.

What documents do my suppliers need to provide?

It is your responsibility to check that all contractors / suppliers have Public Liability Insurance, all electrical equipment over 12 months old is PAT tested and suppliers comply with current Health and Safety regulation. Please note, that fabrication of the venue and its fixtures cannot be damaged in any way, moved or relocated.

Do you cater for children?

Yes, our caterers can put together child friendly menus.

Can I have fireworks?

Fireworks or the releasing of sky lanterns or balloons are not permitted onsite due to protection of the local wildlife.

Is there disabled access?

Yes. We have disabled access throughout the venue and grounds. We also provide a shuttle bus service free of charge up to the main house.

Are dogs allowed?

Well behaved dogs are welcomed to Compton Verney to the grounds. Assistance dogs will be permitted both inside the House and Galleries. If you want your furry friend to be a part of your photographs, we will do our best to work with you to make this happen.

What if we need to cancel?

Our terms & conditions will be sent out upon confirmation which states our cancellation policy. We strongly advise couples to take out an insurance policy to cover unforeseen cancellations.

When are our payments due?

A deposit of 25% of the agreed venue hire will be charged on booking. The balance is then invoiced 4 months ahead of your wedding and due for payment 3 months ahead of your wedding.
