SOLD OUT Lino Printing Workshop: The Designs of Ravilious & Co.

Please note this workshop is now SOLD OUT

Inspired by the colourful repeat pattern designs found in our current exhibition, Ravilious & Co., artist and tutor, Sarah Moss will lead you through the lino cutting and printing process, to produce your own motifs. The original designs were produced by Eric Ravilious and graphic artists such as Edward Bawden, Enid Marx and Paul Nash, to name just a few of his contemporaries, for books and newsletters published by Curwen Press at the vanguard of the design revolution in the early 20th century.

Working from a variety of natural forms collected from around Compton Verney’s parkland, you will be guided through the production of similar motif designs. No prior experience of lino cutting is necessary, but experienced practitioners will also enjoy the workshop.

£40 per session. Limited availability – advance booking recommended.

We recommend you visit the exhibition in your own time before attending the workshop. Sessions are suitable for adults aged 18+ years and attendees must be reasonably dexterous and have strength in arms. Please bring an apron or wear old clothes. Workshops begin promptly and all materials are provided. The same content will be covered in both sessions, but you are welcome to book for both if you would like more time to work on your design.

Light refreshments provided. Compton Kitchen will also be open if you would like something more substantial.
