Grounds Trails at Compton Verney

If you’re a regular visitor to Compton Verney, you’ll know something of the diversity the landscape holds. There’s establishing flower borders near the chapel, a long-established woodland garden known as the ice house coppice, acres of wild flower parkland and lawns aplenty. However, have you heard of the family activity trails to help you explore some of that landscape?

Here are three of the trails available to help your family explore the outside environment at Compton Verney – all available on those shelves in the gallery until 14 December.

There is of course plenty more besides, and our standard grounds plan is available from the ticket lodge with information and direction for art in the grounds, family play areas and some of our most distinctive trees. The plan also illustrates easy access footpaths and for the more adventurous – our mown footpath around the east park meadow.

All in all, a great and very different layer to the already amazing content available within the galleries – do ask about the tours, and do remember to post a photo of your grounds exploration on twitter @ComptonVerney #CVGrounds  via facebook, or you can even join the Compton Verney Grounds Flickr group and upload to there!
