Road closures in Kineton mean there is no through route to Compton Verney from that direction. Please approach us via the Fosse Way.

Heritage Open Days: Friday 11 and Saturday 12 September. We anticipate being very busy on both days. Saturday advance booking is now sold out. Parking is limited and entry cannot be guaranteed if the car park is full. Please car share or visit later in the day where possible.

Sensing Vesuvius

21 March 2024 – 19 May 2024

Sensing Vesuvius ran from 21 March 2024 – 19 May 2024.

One of our historic and most dramatic paintings at Compton Verney – Vesuvius Erupting at Night by Pierre-Jacques Volaire, 1770s – was displayed at Kineton High School from September – December 2023. Students at the school produced a huge range of creative works in response to the painting; from 3D models and works on paper to poetry and soundscapes which then were displayed in one of our galleries.

An art gallery exhibition space with deep blue walls displaying numerous framed artworks, featuring a large landscape painting, a decorative fireplace, information panels, and a central pedestal with sculpted forms exhibited.
