We’re open!

Due to a burst water pipe near our main entrance, the road (B4086) is closed from the Fosse Way. There is a temporary diversion in place through Kineton whilst repairs are carried out. When coming from that direction, entrance to Compton Verney is before the road closure.

Please allow more time for travel if this impacts your journey to us.

BBC Faces of COMEDY

9 July 2016 – 2 October 2016

About the
exhibition

In 2016, BBC Comedy marked 60 fabulous years of the TV sitcom – from Hancock’s Half Hour and Steptoe & Son to Only Fools & Horses, Absolutely Fabulous and Miranda…

To celebrate, BBC Faces of Comedy, a collection of rare images from the BBC’s Photographic Archive, was launched at Compton Verney.

This exhibition showed some of our best-loved comedians at work – behind the scenes, on set among the paraphernalia of cameras and microphones, in avid script discussion, or just enjoying a well-earned cuppa.

The show was curated by a group of the nation’s best loved contemporary sitcom stars, who selected their favourite images of the comedy greats who have personally inspired them.
