Due to a burst water pipe near our main entrance, the road (B4086) is closed from the Fosse Way. There is a temporary diversion in place through Kineton whilst repairs are carried out. When coming from that direction, entrance to Compton Verney is before the road closure.

This ornament would have been attached to the end of the draught pole which connected the body of a chariot to the crossbar, to which a team of horses were harnessed. It is decorated on two sides with taotie (animal) masks, one to face the driver and one the direction of travel.
