Why have a Weekday Wedding?

Weddings are best at the weekend… aren’t they?

In fact, there are many reasons to opt for a weekday wedding and they are growing in popularity! From availability, to guests and families, we have provided just five of the reasons you might want to have a weekday wedding at Compton Verney coupled with some amazing inspiration from some our previous couples!

1. Weekday weddings are cheaper

Vendors, venues and suppliers are generally quieter on weekdays and frequently offer reduced prices or, at least, have more room for negotiation. Less weekends during the year compared to weekdays creates a supply and demand meaning that the price of a weekend wedding can be more.

2. More availability

This means you are more likely to get your choice of suppliers and venue as well as date! Although Spring and Summer are peak wedding season, having a weekday wedding increases your chance of securing your dream date. Meaning you can still enjoy the Spring florals and Summer warmth without the same wait time or budget.

3. Long weekends

Ideal for both the guests and couples, having a weekday wedding means you can turn the event of your wedding into a long weekend! Make it a Monday and have a whole weekend of timely preparation beforehand. Make it a Tuesday after a Bank Holiday and only have a 3 day work week to go back to. Make it a Friday and have the rest of the weekend to continue celebrations and relax after your big day; perfect for those post-wedding hangovers!

4. Utilise the school holidays

Whether you are hoping to include families with young children or not, weekdays can offer more flexibility. Choose a weekday when children are in school and childcare time is reduced to just the evening, and your guests can be available and child-free for longer periods. Conversely, choose a weekday during school holidays, and you can be more sure that your flower girl and page boy are available as well as their parents who, along with other guests, are more likely to have time booked off work to spend with their family.
