A May Bank Holiday Special
Walk of the Dandelion

Monday 4 May

Walk of the Dandelion is an uplifting community engagement project designed by the Luke Brown Company to spread joy and connection.

Daniel is a larger-than-life puppet who holds a dandelion; a symbol of resilience and hope.
On 3 occasions throughout the day, Daniel will walk around the grounds of Compton Verney encouraging the making, receiving and passing on of handmade dandelions.

Also outside, a drop-in dandelion making workshop will run throughout the day. Make a dandelion and give it to Daniel, receive one from him or simply walk alongside this 8ft puppet as he explores the grounds.

With a crown of dandelions on his head and bare feet on the earth, Daniel shows the grace of someone who has faced struggles but chooses kindness. Daniel walks purposefully, offering small acts of care – a dandelion, a moment of presence, or a smile – to everyone he encounters.

When Daniel appears, he reminds us that even in dark times, something gentle and brave can still grow.
