Greenwood Stool Making
Workshop
Two-day workshop
Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February 2027On this two-day course, learn how to create your own greenwood stool using traditional tools and methods.
Starting with the tree, you’ll learn how to select suitable wood and understand how the way it has grown affects how it can be used.
You’ll then cleave and shape freshly felled greenwood, using an axe and drawknife on a shaving horse to create the stool legs.
Finally, you’ll shape and dish the stool top using traditional travishers, drill and fit the legs, then level and finish your stool ready to take home.
