Natural Dyeing Workshop

A creative tw0-day course on using garden grown and locally foraged plants to dye fabrics, yarns and more.

Learn the art and beauty of using plants to dye fabrics and yarns with artist Jacqui Symons from Slow Lane Studio. On this course, you’ll learn how to identify which plants make great dyes and how to create a range of tones using colour modifiers.

With a focus on locally grown and foraged plants, Jacqui will take you out into Compton Verney’s picturesque grounds where you’ll learn first-hand how to find sources of colour in your environment. This includes the newly-created sensory dye garden.

You’ll discover the different types of natural dyes, the different formats they come in, fibres, how to use them and achieve good results.
