Meet the Storymakers
Saturday 7 FebruaryGather with friends and family for a day of stories, music and making, with the writer Marina Warner, co-curator of The Shelter of Stories, and storytellers, musicians, and artists from around the world.
Inspired by living storytelling traditions, this special day of activities explores how stories help us come together across borders and languages, share wisdom, celebrate diverse cultures, and develop an ethic of hospitality and joyful assembly.
Experience story teller extraordinaire Ben Haggarty performing The Iron Man Kavad, create fantastical props with artist and poet, Sophie Herxheimer, explore the magic of the 1001 Nights with renowned author, Wafa’ Tarnowska and take part in a joyous improvisatory Stories in Transit workshop, led by the young migrants’ collective from Sicily, Giocherenda, with Clelia Bartoli, Valentina Castagna, Dine Diallo, Numu Touray and others.
Plus, live music from Celebrating Sanctuary, drop-in making activities and much more.
