Birdsong Identification Workshop

Thursday 4 June 2026
10.30am – 4pm

Early June is a brilliant time to explore Compton Verney and listen to the variety of birdsong, including many of our newly arrived summer migrant birds such as swallows, reed warblers and chiffchaffs.

Course leader Ed Drewitt, author and experienced naturalist, will be on hand to help you learn how to identify different common birds from blackbirds to blackcaps and green woodpeckers to goldcrests. There will be a mix of indoor and outdoor activities including an introductory talk on the different species and several walks outside to put your identification skills into practice ‘in the field’.
