Big Play Weekend
A weekend of creative play, storytelling, LEGO building and larger-than-life fun with Ringworld’s inflatable sculptures.

Find building blocks and Lego bricks on the ground floor and play games on the grass. Explore the gallery or pop along to Play on Words to listen to a story of adventure and myth under the shade of the trees with writer Cate West.
PLUS the Ringworld team are back – get hands-on with the multi-coloured, inflatable and movable sculptures that children can enjoy all day.
Activities will be happening inside and outdoors, close to the main gallery. Please check with the team on the day for exact locations.

About Ringworld
The Ringworld team return to Compton Verney for a weekend of playful fun and frolics! Enjoy playing on and around these colourful inflated structures.
The Ringworld staff are on hand to supervise (and are fully trained in first aid!) enabling parents and carers to step back and give children space to play, if parents are comfortable to do so.
The Ringworld Team’s Approach
Playworkers will support children in judging their own risk level, however low that may be.
For the under 5s, the Ringworld team ask parents and carers to stay close to give them greater support, keeping them away from the areas where more rough and tumble play is happening and being ready to catch them if they fall.
Adults are welcome to join in and support their own children but we ask you to follow your child’s lead and refrain from directing other children. Instead, we ask that you talk to one of the Ringworld Playworkers if you feel the need to discuss another child’s behaviour.
We support the children’s opportunity to choose and create their play by providing Ringworld to inspire and challenge. The playwork team try not to control the choices or direction of the children’s play, whilst also recognising that one person’s play should not be to the detriment of another person’s. Ask us about play, we’re happy to chat!
