Watching a film under the stars is a special experience

There’s something quite profound about looking up at a huge cinema screen surrounded by a starry night sky, like a glimmering portal into another world. Open air cinema can transport us to times gone by – times of ancient amphitheatres where the fresh air, scenery and the sunset were an integral part of the show.

Outdoor screenings give us the opportunity to experience movies in unique and enhanced sensory ways, whether it’s hearing our favourite orchestral scores swell and spread across the skyline, blending with the sound of nature or basking in mesmerising flashes of light, searching screen rays bathing us in a flickering reflection of our favourite film.

Late September is promising some settled evenings ahead. What better way to spend them than by joining us at Compton Verney’s gorgeous lakeside for Movies By Moonlight?

Taking place across four consecutive evenings 22 – 25 September, films include:

  • John Landis’ cult horror-comedy American Werewolf in London
  • Singalong fave The Greatest Showman
  • Disney’s family hit Encanto
  • Spielberg’s West Side Story

All films will be accompanied by mouth-watering street food courtesy of Digbeth Dining Club.
