Our Learning Programmes are £9 per child and £7 per child for self-led visits; all accompanying adults are free of charge. Discover what exciting workshops we have below.

Sculpture in the Park

Construct your own sculpture to take home after exploring our exciting new sculpture in the park at Compton Verney. Take a closer look with our Learning Team and discover new ways of observing, questioning, and investigating sculpture. Learn about form, shape, size, and perspective and be inspired by the work of internationally acclaimed artists such as Louise Bourgeois and Perminduar Kaur.

Folk and Function

Join us at Compton Verney for our STEAM-based workshop where you’ll explore the wonders and curiosities of our folk-art collection. Handle some of the collection pieces, learn about movement and mechanisms and discover how to create for function, tradition and wellbeing.

Printmaking 

An exciting and informative day of learning! Pupils visit our inspirational collections, including the Marx-Lambert gallery to explore the print works of prodigious designer and artist Enid Marx. They will spend time in the Folk Art Collection where they will look at works by contemporary printmaker and artist Mark Hearld. They sketch and gather ideas for their own creations before embarking on the process of designing and printing their own work.

CHILA KUMARI SINGH BURMAN

Get interactive with light and colour this Autumn through the vibrant artwork of Chila Kumari Singh Burman. You’ll explore neon sculptural works, prints, collage and film, plus learn about identity and popular culture. Then you can create your own mixed media art using a variety of neon and light-sensitive paints.

Arts Award

Arts Award is a national portfolio-based qualification for children and young people up to age 25 delivered across a variety of levels; Discover & Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold.

At each level, children and young people develop arts, leadership and communication skills supported by a trained Arts Award adviser.

If you work with children or young people up to age 25 in any setting; schools, community centres, youth groups or arts organisations for example; Compton Verney can help you to deliver Arts Award.

Our learning team has advisors trained at every level and can deliver bespoke Arts Award programmes tailored to your group’s needs, as well as help you to locate our core offers into your own projects.
