On the 5th May, we launch a public fundraising campaign, #CV-CreativeVitality
The closure of Compton Verney due to Covid-19 is financially devastating. Help Compton Verney to share ‘Creative Vitality’ and shape a positive future for everyone.
Compton Verney is a charity, and we need your help now. Founded in 2004, Sir Peter Moores invested in Compton Verney Art Gallery and Park, to enable access to great art and nature for as many people as possible. However, we now need your support to ensure that we can continue to deliver our founder’s mission and vision for everyone.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Compton Verney faces a loss of 90% of our trading income. We were very sad to close our doors on the 20th March, 2020. As a result, we have no income from admissions, retail, hires or catering. To ensure we can reopen we continue to pay for the costs and upkeep of the buildings, grounds, collections, security and a small team to oversee everything. A donation will help support our #CV-CreativeVitality campaign, this will help us produce digital content whilst closed, pay to keep the building in good order and collections safe, look after the grounds ready for opening and enable us to reopen when the time is right.
Culture and nature are central to a feeling of creative vitality for communities at this time and following the Covid-19 Pandemic. Whether home schooling or joining school visits to the site, finding your space in nature, learning new skills, sharing art with friends and family, attending events and gatherings such as the Dementia Café, helping us to loan art from national organisations, developing our work with artists in commissioning and showing new work, walking your dog, watching your children enjoy Forest School or enjoying a gallery talk, we offer a vibrant and compelling visitor experience where people can discover the natural environment anew; a place where they can channel their recently discovered creative interests and visit our nationally accredited exhibitions. There is something for everyone at Compton Verney. Help us to bring ‘Creative Vitality’ into your lives and develop a positive future for everyone.
