Happy Anniversary Sonya & Jon
Congratulations Sonya & Jon on your first anniversary!
It feels like we go way back with lovely Sonya and Jon! We first met years ago, they were both so organised and I love how many excuses you both found to pop in to Compton Verney. I always enjoyed seeing you and I think you got a very good feel for Compton Verney in all weathers, which is important for your wedding venue (especially one in the UK!)
We were so lucky on the day. The 24th May arrived and the weather was absolutely perfect and don’t the pictures show it!
Sonya and Jon arrived with us for their civil ceremony after a ceremony at the Sikh Temple. The joy of colour filled Compton Verney as their guests arrived to a beautiful ceremony in the chapel. At this point I have to congratulate the ushers on being A star rated. They got straight onto their jobs, I was impressed. Sonya and Jon had such a great team around them and the love for them both really showed!
I love that Sonya and Jon rang our chapel bell as we arranged their guests into a confetti line, it’s such a great touch! The weather allowed the wedding procession to parade through Compton Verney’s wildflower meadow to a drinks reception beside the lake on a heavenly May afternoon.
Cue my favourite reception photograph of all time with the great launch in front of the lake and the artwork ‘The Clearing’! There was time for lawn games, catching up with friends and family and lots of photographs making the most of our grounds before heading into Adam Hall for dinner.
Itihaas and Amadeus put on an immense spread that smelled and tasted incredible. The speeches made me cry, Jon especially yours, it was so honest and open and full of love! 😊
Sonya changed into her second incredibly beautiful dress of the day then both Sonya and Jon were escorted up the drive to their evening reception. Drummers drummed their arrival and announced the happy couple to their waiting guests, who greeted them dancing around them and dancing into the night. So many happy family and friends sharing in Sonya and Jon’s evident love for each other.
The sounds, colours and happiness will be my true memories of Sonya and Jon’s wedding with us, and I loved getting to know them so well in the planning!
We loved being there for you Sonya & Jon, congratulations again on your one year anniversary!
