A unique opportunity to engage with the artist informally in the round and ask questions about the new work she has made for Compton Verney as part of her artist in residence project.

You will be invited to handle bronze castings and prototypes Gayle made during her residency as well as Compton Verney’s very own Chinese bronzes. This event will also be the first time to see a film of her performance procession including fire, masks and drums and participate in the unveiling of a new performance ritual made to celebrate the ritual bronzes, inviting a singer to activate the space.

This ritual will then be enacted annually at Compton Verney, inviting different voices each time.
