Talks & Lectures

Meet the artist:
Gayle Chong Kwan

A unique opportunity to meet Gayle Chong Kwan, one of the UK’s leading contemporary artists.

Gayle will explain the myths, legends, rituals, family and colonial histories that she drew on to create her work, The Taotie, and offer a rare opportunity to touch and handle objects from Compton Verney’s ancient Chinese bronze collection.

It will also be the first time she performs an annual ritual in front of the work. This ritual will then be enacted annually at Compton Verney, inviting different voices each time.
