Vacancy for Chair of Governors
Compton Verney Art Gallery and Park is an independent charitable Trust, governed by a Board of Governors, and currently chaired by Kirsten Suenson-Taylor who retires in December 2019.
In this context Compton Verney House Trust are seeking a Chair to lead their Governing Body. The Chair of Governors will be an enthusiastic and enabling leader with recent experience on charity boards or in business. They will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with governors, staff and external stakeholders. A good local or national network of influencers and business connections will be helpful. Importantly, the Chair will have a deep passion for the power of art and culture to enrich society, and a commitment to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion. The Chair will ensure that the executive and governors articulate a clear vision, which is sympathetic to the values of the organisation and help Compton Verney communicate and share its passion for art and landscape with diverse audiences.

It has a global reputation both for forging partnerships with museums and universities across the UK (and beyond) and for interpreting art, architecture and landscape to the highest international standards.
