Textile Fair

Sat 17 Nov, 10.30am - 5pm

Visitors please note that only CASH payments will be accepted with the stall holders at the Textile Fair. Card payments will still be accepted on purchases made in our Gift Shop.

Now in its eighth year, the Textile Fair showcases an impressive range of independent textile artists, employing embroidery, felt work and printing, among other techniques, to produce high quality items which are available to purchase throughout the day.

A new partnership this year will see the local Embroiderer’s Guild transform our Chapel with their own amazing work. You will also be able to learn from the experts and try out new and innovative mini workshops.

Hosted in our spectacular Adam Hall and Entrance Hall, we will have over 20 artists selling and showcasing their works, from felt makers to hand embroiderers.

Come and meet renowned textile artist and author Anne Kelly at this year’s textile fair. Her love of folk art makes her visit to Compton Verney even more exciting. Meet her and view some of her textile pieces where she will be happy to sign a personal copy of her new book Textile Folk Art. Anne’s book will be available to purchase from our gift shop for £22.95.

Our stunning Naples gallery will be home to a mix of graduate and undergraduate student work from the Fashion and Textile Department at Birmingham City University.

Don’t forget to visit out British Portraits Gallery where you will find a mix of costumes regularly used in TV dramas, theatre and film productions provided by the Birmingham Costume Hire – a great opportunity to view the intricate detail and work that goes into making these wonderful pieces.

This event in included in a Membership, Annual Pass or DAY TICKET.
