History in the Making
History in the making is a unique exploration of materials and methods of making from across several centuries, displaying an eclectic mixture of historical items and contemporary pieces. You will be led through each gallery that will display six different material groups – wood, stone, clay, metal, textile, organic as well as work by makers at the forefront of developing new materials and ways of working, learning about how and why materials are used and the implications they propose. You will take part in a workshop led by our education team exploring uses of new sustainable materials and a variety of practical activities to make a new product or art piece.
