Natural scientist, farmer and artist, Mary Newcomb’s (1922-2008) life and art were rooted in everyday observation and the natural world. Featuring over fifty works, displayed alongside extracts from her writing and work by the artists that inspired her, Mary Newcomb: Nature’s Canvas will be the most extensive survey of her work ever.

Filling our largest gallery space, Seasons is a stunning site-specific installation that has been created for Compton Verney by Rebecca Louise Law. The artwork is composed of approximately 250,000 dried flowers which have been suspended from the ceiling on copper wire, and includes hundreds of daffodils foraged from our grounds. Come and be immersed in this sensory journey through a British year in nature.
