Happy Anniversary Amy & Nick

Happy Anniversary Amy & Nick

Happy first Wedding Anniversary to Amy and Nick.

………There was no chance of these lucky guests ‘twiddling their thumbs’ 😊

Fans of Compton Verney from the very beginning, Amy and Nick, with much help from Lynne and John (Amy’s parents); were regular visitors with their tape measures and ideas, at Compton Verney, many months before August 2019.  It was lovely to build up such a strong bond with them all.

Amy and Nick’s wedding definitely won the prize for the most set up of 2019! Keen on arts and crafts and creativity Amy and Lynne had been hard at it creating personalised wedding artefacts and decorations and they didn’t disappoint!

Married off site at St Mary’s Church in Warwick, we were ready to welcome their guests from 2pm and what a treat they had in store at the drinks reception on our Lakeside.

Crazy golf, festoon lighting, an ice cream cart, a marquee, deck chairs, a magician and a specially mown croquet lawn, not to mention chilled champagne and exquisite Canapés certainly kept their guests entertained, all to the soundtrack of a string quartet.

Amy and Nick arrived in a classical cream wedding car a while later and all their family and friends moved to the courtyard to welcome and cheer them as the car pulled up in front of the pillars of the mansion.

Many photos, golf shots, ice creams and not one but two confetti lines later it was time for the master of ceremonies to announce  the wedding breakfast.  A total of 85 guests had been invited and this number worked well in our Adam Hall.  A long top table in front of the portico double doors and a further 9 spacious round tables still left enough room for service.  The purple theme extended itself to chair covers, flowers and ornate table decorations, as well as beautifully made cushions adorning the window ledges.

The couple had chosen a starter of brie tartlet, followed by rump of lamb served with dauphinoise potatoes, steamed greens and smoked garlic jus.  Dessert was a pear bakewell slice.  Speeches were to follow and finally everyone made their way to our Naples gallery, where it was time to cut the cake with a sword.

Amy and Nick and their family and friends danced the night away to a mixture of a band and DJ.

Evening food was brought out at 8.30pm and a complete surprise to the bride and groom; a firework display interjected the evening at 10pm with carriages at midnight.
