Do I need to pre-book to visit the Grounds?

No, you can buy daily Grounds passes on site on arrival from our Welcome Centre or if you wish to purchase these in advance they are available on our website. Due to the government track and trace requirements we are required to take details including name, postcode and email/phone number. These will be stored securely for 21 days and then destroyed. They will not be used for any marketing purposes.

I am a Member/Local Pass holder do I need to pre-book a ticket to visit your grounds?

No, but please bring your Membership card so we can record your entry for the day.

Do I need to pre-book to visit the galleries?

Yes, we’re asking all our visitors, including our Members, Local Pass holders, Patrons, Supporters and Benefactors to book a timed ticket online in advance. This is so we can safely manage the number of people in the galleries at any one time and ensure we adhere to social distancing.

I only want to visit the galleries do I still need to buy a Grounds Pass?

Yes, our daily Grounds pass gives you access to our whole site.

Can I arrive at any time in my booked hour slot?

No, please arrive promptly at the start time of your hourly slot so you can enjoy the maximum time in the gallery spaces. If you arrive after this time we cannot guarantee entry due to social distancing requirements.

I cannot now visit on my booked day can I move my booking?

In certain circumstances it may be possible to move your booking to an alternative day/time if there are available slots. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds on any day passes or timed slots.

Are you offering any guided tours?

No, unfortunately due to government guidelines we are unable to provide tours, however this is subject to review as government guidance changes. Do you have toilets available?

Yes, we have toilets in our Welcome Centre and House which are regularly cleaned and sanitised for your safety.

Will I need to wear a mask or face covering?

In line with government guidelines, from Sat 8 Aug face coverings are to be worn in our Galleries as well as the Welcome Centre and Gift Shop.

Will you be giving out maps, leaflets, or trails?

I’m a visitor with access needs, am I still able to access your shuttle to the house and wheelchairs for my visit?

Our shuttle is available on request from our Welcome Centre to take you up to the House (a 5-minute journey) and wheelchairs can also be requested if needed.

Do you have any cloakroom facilities?

At present our lockers and cloakroom are unavailable. Please try and avoid bringing bulky coats and bags to the galleries.

Can I bring a picnic?

Yes, we have no restrictions on bringing your own food or drink to site and have plenty of benches available around the grounds for seating.

What activities do you have for children?

We have plenty of outdoor space for children to enjoy along with an adventure playground, sand pits and pond dipping platform (nets not supplied). See https://www.comptonverney.org.uk/compton-verney-is-the-place-to/ for further inspiration to keep younger visitors entertained.

Do you have an electric car charging facility?

Yes, please ask in our Welcome Centre for a key which is available to use during your visit. Please note a £10 deposit is required payable by card and refunded on exit.
