Tue 31 May 2022, 10.00am – Wed 1 June 2022, 5.00pm
We invite you to join us for a series of exciting, pollinator themed events and activities, in celebration of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. Inspired by the Queen’s Green Canopy, we will be celebrating the pollinators who help to keep our planet green!
In Association with the British Bee Keepers Association, there will be a range of activities taking place across the two days, including a live, open air bee demonstration. Come and explore a microscopic experience and enjoy an interactive and sensory hive experience.
Discover more about the central process in beekeeping, honey extraction or try your hand at the ancient art of skep making and learn all about the processes used to catch swarms or join in with our beeswax candle rolling activity, these will make a great addition to any home!
There will also be the opportunity to join the Compton Verney’s Grounds Team, with a wild flower meadow demonstration. Our expert grounds volunteer, Peter Haine, will show you how to create a successful wildflower meadow in your garden.
BBC Ndevour Moth group will be spending the night at Compton Verney to look for beautiful moths. Join them from 10am-11.30am on Wednesday 1 June to see which colourful moths they have found!
