Archaeology Talk and Finds Handling with Hilary Calow

Join archaeologist and Compton Verney volunteer, Hilary Calow, as she brings the site’s past to life!

She will explore, with the help of visual aids, how evidence of pre-historic, Roman, Anglo Saxon and medieval activity has gradually been coming to light at Compton Verney. You will discover hidden secrets and learn about some of the mysteries still to be explored, looking at Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown’s Georgian Chapel and Compton Verney’s role in World War II. You will also have the opportunity to look at and handle some of Compton Verney’s archaeological finds.

This event will take place indoors and will last approximately 45 minutes to an hour.
Tea and coffee will be provided.

This event is free with a valid membership or day ticket.
