March of the Imagination

March of the Imagination

An illuminating experience awaits you at Compton Verney this autumn!

For the third year running, and extended due to popular demand, our autumn spectacle returned, and promised to give visitors of all ages a magical experience.

Acclaimed artists, Musson + Retallick took inspiration from the historic landscape and house, and our hugely successful summer exhibition, The Marvellous Mechanical Museum, to create a remarkable experience.

Visitors will began their journey by following an impressive trail of 4000 twinkling reflectors; winding through russet-leaved trees, flickering above the lake, and leading up to the house. As you shine torches and steer spotlights, the artworks come alive before your eyes, glinting and glowing in the darkness.

Further round the route you could spy on a cinematic world through the gallery windows and experience the trees around the West Lawn glow and fade, and our 18thCentury chapel  transported visitors into a multisensory dream-land.

Keep your hands warm and your belly full with seasonal delights such as flavoured hot chocolates and freshly-baked, wood-fired pizzas. The smell of roasted chestnuts will follow you around and lure you inside where our café and gift shop will tempt you with festive treats.

“Each element will draw visitors around Compton Verney’s beautiful park in a playful partnership between landscape, artwork and the people themselves,” – Flora Cranmer-Perrier, Project Curator.

The March of the Imagination truly promised to lead you, and your imagination, on a remarkable journey.
