Tue 21 November 2017, 2.00pm – 3.30pm
Book TicketsA special chance to come and meet The Lost Words’ Artist Jackie Morris in the exhibition. Jackie will be here to talk about the exhibition to visitors and sign copies of her books.
The Women’s Library was originally created in around 1860 by Georgiana Verney, Lady Willoughby de Broke, an enthusiastic champion of women’s reading, women’s education and women’s suffrage. Discover the secrets the room revealed during the refurbishment and reimagining – from the history of the room, the beautiful furnishings and what women were reading in the late Victorian era, to the fascinating story of the imitation book spines.
The talk will be followed by Cream Tea served in the Old Servants Hall.
Please note this is a special event for Gold Members only. Maximum two tickets per member.
In your own time explore the contemporary titles on the shelves in the Women’s Library, chosen by our six guest curators- including actor and UN Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson and students from Kineton High School (books available to buy in the shop).
