A Royal Concert

Performed in our newly renovated Chapel, The Rocco Singers are delighted to present a programme of music and words to complement the  Queen Victoria in Paris exhibition. The music will feature songs that would have been performed for Victoria and Albert during their time in Paris, including works from a concert they attended at L’Opera and from the Ball that was held in their honour at L’Hotel de Ville. The programme will also include music by the influential French composer at that time, Berlioz, as well as songs by Mendelssohn and even some songs written by Prince Albert himself.

The music will be interspersed with letters and diary entries from Queen Victoria about her love for Albert, as well as about her first meeting with Mendelssohn, a composer Victoria and Albert both very much admired.

Tickets include exhibitions, collections and park admission.
