Bird Species at Compton Verney 2013

Thanks to the volunteer bird enthusiast Alwyn Knapton, a member of the British Trust for Ornithology, I’m glad to bring you our most up-to-date list of bird species to be seen in the landscape and gardens of Compton Verney.

If on your visit you record other birds, or indeed an image or two of these or other species that you’d be happy to share, please get in touch with the grounds team via gary.webb@comptonverney.org.uk and we’ll be happy to share in this blog.

Additionally if you are able to make a visit, please make use of our bird lookout, a temporary feature in the ‘Ice House Coppice’ to help spot birds in the woodland and across our lake. Visiting/ticket information can be found by clicking here.

Naturally we’d love to fund and install a designed bird hut, but in the interim, please make use of our temporary bird lookout!

If you’d like a refresher to help with your bird spotting, please follow this link to the British Trust for Ornithology website, where you’ll find some really useful short video clips on Bird Identification.

May 15th 2013

Session between 2-4pm, Slight west wind with sun and some showers.

Thanks for stopping by, please do get in touch if you spot a new species whilst visiting Compton Verney, and we’ll add it to the list!
